Ingredients

Mix thoroughly:

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup soft shortening (4 tablespoons)
  • 1 egg

Stir in:

  • 1/2 cup milk

Sift together and stir in:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Carefully blend in:

  • 2 cups blueberries

Sprinkle top with Crumb Mixture:
Mix together:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter (4 tablespoons)

Directions

Grease bottom and sides of a 9” x 9” pan. Bake at 375 F for 40-45 minutes.

*Thin icing optional:
1 tablespoon butter, ¼ teaspoon vanilla, ½ cup powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons whole milk.
Mix together and drizzle on buckle while slightly warm.
