Terhune Orchards 50th Anniversary Gathering
Thursday, March 6, 2025, 1-3 pm
On March 6th, we will hold a special gathering in the wine barn to mark the 50th anniversary of Pam & Gary Mount’s purchase of Terhune Orchards on March 6, 1975. The event will include remarks from Ed Wengryn, NJ Secretary of Agriculture, and NJ State Senator Shirley Turner. We look forward to gathering with friends, family, and our community leaders to share memories and mark this special occasion together.

There’s no better way to celebrate 50 years than with the incredible community that made it all possible! Join us for a fun-filled day honoring Terhune Orchards’ 50th anniversary and the customers, staff, and neighbors who have supported us over the years. Enjoy live music, games, special anniversary activities, and interactive entertainment. The Farm Store, Wine Orchard, Barn Door Café, and Pam’s Food Pavilion will all be open, offering farm favorites, throwback specials, and exclusive 50th-anniversary swag to mark the occasion!

Join us as we kick off the fall festival season with a special throwback event celebrating the original Terhune Orchards Apple Day! Enjoy all your favorite festival activities, plus a few classic Apple Day traditions that made the event so memorable. It’s a weekend full of fall fun, fresh apples, and farm favorites—just like the good old days!
50 Years of Sustainable Farming
Pam and Gary Mount purchased Terhune Orchards, the home farm of 55 acres on Cold Soil Road
Purchased property at 13 Van Kirk Road
“Pick Your Own” apple orchard at 13 Van Kirk Road opened
Bakery opened — apple cider donuts began
Greenhouse added
Purchased 65-acre property at 42 Van Kirk Road. Became certified organic and started organic vegetable production
Started Read & Pick education programs and expanded farm festivals
12 varieties of grapes planted
New barn built with controlled atmosphere storage rooms and solar panels
First vintage bottled and tasting room opened
New winery building opened for wine processing and events
Purchased 32 Van Kirk Road with about 35 acres of farmable land

We've been going to Terhune since my husband and I were students at TCNJ. When I was pregnant with our first, we started taking pictures of the fall festival and have turned it into an annual mommy/son photo.
I have been coming to you since I was a baby living on Cold Soil Road. Now 44 years later I still come to Lawrence/Princeton to the farm and bring my son! He loves it! The goats are the best! Just have to say thanks for not really changing. Every time I bring him, I feel my childhood coming back!

I was just thinking about the farm and wanted to let you know that I think your farm is great. I used to live nearby and spent many wonderful weekends at the farm with my daughter. It was a great bonding experience. I remember playing with the cats and the dog and then taking the tractor out in the fields to pick apples, berries and pumpkins. I can honestly say you have the best apples I have ever tasted.

My husband and I have been coming here each Fall for 10+ years and have been sharing the tradition with our daughter since she was born.
Terhune was always a yearly visit with my grandparents. I remember the apple cider slushies and following the labs around as a kid. Now with a 14yr old son myself I’ve kept the tradition and just pulling into the orchard all my childhood memories flood in along with making new ones. My grandparents are no longer with us as of this year and it’s even more important to visit these memorable places. Thank You for all the great times.
Terhune Orchards is more than just an orchard. It's more like a member of my family. My parents took us and we took our children. Today I took my grandchildren for the first time and they loved it. The owners go out of their way to make it a wonderful family experience for everyone. If you do nothing else, make sure you have some donuts. They're the best. We will continue to support them for the rest of our lives. Thank you for all the memories!! ♥️
Been coming here for over 20 years. Love this place. Also one of the few spots ANYWHERE where I can find Cameo apples. I used to really like feeding the animals at the petting zoo and the various fall events are fun ! Stop by sometime 🍎
The orchard sure has grown a bit. I picked up cider doughnuts, apple strudel, and had an apple cider slushy. They have animals to look at and pet, and things to do for the littles. It's truly a great place to visit.
