School will be out before you know it. Terhune Orchards offers fun and educational farm camps for children ages 7-12 on its 200 acre preserved farm. Certified by the state of New Jersey, our camp is led by the farm education director and a science and STEM teacher. Activities include animal care, exploring the natural world, crafts, games and hands on science experiments. Campers learn to plant, grow and harvest crops in the Children’s Garden and then get to enjoy eating what they grew.
What makes this camp special is its smaller size which allows for more individual attention to be paid to each camper. The unique setting of a working family farm means that our campers have a genuine real life experience of farm life, its people, animals, equipment, and of course the field fresh produce. They have a diverse set of experiences that includes: interacting with farm animals, harvesting, cooking, and tasting farm fresh foods, exploring the nature on the farm, playing games and sports, STEM activities, and engaging their creativity in craft projects. Perhaps most importantly, it is the new friends and memories that are made that make our camp such a wonderful and unforgettable experience.
Our five weeks of day camp runs in weekly sessions, Mon.- Fri., July 9 – August 10. Reserve your spot online here.
Does your child love horses? They will love Pony Club.
Children ages 6-12 will learn about horse safety, grooming, handling, and riding of horses in this hand on class. Ponies are brought by Clare Taylor of “It’s a Party!” All of the ponies are small in size for our young farm friends to safely learn about horses.
Pony Club consists of five 1-hour weekly sessions at Terhune Orchards, on Thursdays, July 12, 19, 26, August 2, 9 from 9:30-10:30 am.
